The Shipping/Receiving Clerk performs daily delivery, order fulfillment, packaging, receiving, and shipment duties of component boxes and materials. Conducts scheduling of orders, ensures accuracy of packaging products, and scans bar codes within the system. Works with other employees and departments to resolve shipping and receiving matters.
Key duties and Responsibilities
- Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics representatives, customer service representatives, department Supervisor and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
- Completes daily inbound receiving of product and packages and notifies recipients accordingly.
- Coordinates and provides support with employees and/or other departments to resolve shipping and packaging issues and matters.
- Prints orders, scans and sorts incoming and outgoing stock
- Receiving, stocking, and stacking
- Pulls, packs, and loads orders
- Order supplies
- Function as back-up to multiple areas as needed
- Record information concerning special orders or stock material with errors/issues and communicate with appropriate parties
- Schedule container deliveries and communicate any conflicts concerning order dates or missed delivery appointments
- Generate container pack slips and provide Receiving and Assembly with drawings
- Receive container purchase orders into Epicor and send receipts to Purchasing
- Receive Transfer Orders and communicate when there are issues
- Enter Transfer orders for Lockers
- Record returned material and communicate with Customer Service/Claims dept.
- Generate weekly reports, record all non-conformances, update KPI scorecards.
- Separate materials or products according to size, weight, type, condition, color, or shade.
- Mark identification numbers, trademarks, grades, marketing data, sizes, or model numbers on products.
- Responsible for training of employees on processes within the local team as needed.
- Responsible for daily guidance and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Create complete receiving and shipping transactions
- Completing all daily shipping and receiving responsibilities
- Assisting manager in receiving/shipping team
- Maintain weekly and monthly shipping/receiving reports
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks
- Assist in resolving any daily shipping and receiving discrepancies
- Assist customers with shipping inquiries
- Coordinate, and maintain shipping/receiving requests and documents
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- May operate powered industrial truck or use hand truck to move materials.
- 14) May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
- Ensure that the escalation procedure for quality concerns is followed
- Perform safety inspections.
- Count and bundle items for shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience and Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of standard shipping and receiving procedures.
- Understanding of production procedures.
- May be required to operate powered industrial equipment.
- Compliance with health and safety regulations (constant use of PPE)
- One-year manufacturing experience in an operator capacity preferred.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- May be required to operate powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform within a changing workload and/or priorities and meet order schedules with quality results.
- Ability to read and understand equipment operation manuals, Safety Data Sheets, and other literature as required.
- Intermediate computer knowledge preferred.
- Intermediate mathematics skills required.
- Critical Thinking/Problem solving/trouble shooting ability required.
Physical Requirements:
Punctual attendance to work is required. This position requires a moderate to high degree of standing, walking, stooping or kneeling, close eye work, reaching, pulling or pushing. Good hand dexterity, hearing, and vision are considered essential. Ability to differentiate color. A moderate to high degree of repetitive motions using right, left, or both hands and/or feet may also be required. Moderate to Steady lifting of up to 50lbs. required. Requires wearing personal protective equipment. Requires working indoors in environmentally non-controlled conditions.
