Position Overview

The Inventory Control & Purchasing Clerk plays a vital role in managing stock levels, assist in processing purchases, and ensuring efficient procurement of bathroom partitions, accessories, and raw materials. This position is designed as a developmental role, providing hands-on experience in inventory management and purchasing while preparing the candidate for future advancement into the Buying Department.

Inventory Control:

  • Monitor stock levels for bathroom partitions, accessories, and raw materials.
  • Conduct audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using database systems.
  • Coordinate shipments, transfers, and warehouse storage.
  • Assist in forecasting demand and supply needs.

Purchasing:

  • Assist in processing purchase orders and track deliveries.
  • Resolve order discrepancies (e.g., damaged or incorrect shipments).
  • Prepare reports to track purchasing costs and supplier performance.
  • Work with accounting to ensure timely invoice payments.

Training & Career Growth – Buyer Track:

  • Learn supplier evaluation, contract management, and negotiation strategies.
  • Gain expertise in market trends, forecasting, and procurement best practices.
  • Shadow senior buyers to develop strategic purchasing skills.
  • Participate in professional development programs for career advancement.
  • Receive mentorship and structured training to transition into a Buyer role.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience in inventory control or purchasing preferred.
  • Knowledge of bathroom partition systems, accessories, and raw materials a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and management.

Language Skills

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Additional languages preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires a moderate degree of standing, walking, sitting, precision eye work, use of hands, reach with hands or arms and hearing, and vision are considered essential.  Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing of stairs or balance required.  Ability to differentiate color.  A moderate to high degree of repetitive motions using right, left, or both hands may also be required.  Occasional moving of product of up to 35 lbs.  Requires wearing personal protective equipment.  Normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Overtime may be required.  Attendance to work required.  Reasonable accommodations made be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
